Trevor Guthrie co-founded Giant Spoon, an innovation-driven marketing agency that focuses on idea-centric strategy and lives where digital, technology, and innovation collide. As winner of Mediapost’s 2014 and 2015 Creative Agency of the Year, Giant Spoon has proven that it fills the gap between large creative agencies and media agencies with its award-winning work, smart thinking, and disruptive strategies that are all digital at the core.
Trevor is a “big-ideas” guy, having spent his career repositioning companies as future-pointing brands with a one-two punch of sky's-the-limit thinking and savvy execution. As the running point on several of the agency’s accounts, predominately GE, Trevor helped create the Adweek Media Plan of the Year and Clio award-winning child inventor-themed segment, Fallonventions, featured on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. He has also played an integral role in GE’s more recent activations including a virtual reality cardboard headset in partnership with Google and The New York Times, GE’s new science fiction podcast, “The Message”, and a successful Science of BBQ program at 2014’s SXSW (a food-meets-neuroscience pop-up installation dedicated to showcasing that the innovation company’s technology could be leveraged to fit any industry.)
Prior to forming Giant Spoon, Trevor was the East Coast Director of Ignition Factory, a creative catalyst unit at Omnicom's OMD, where he led a team of specialists to dream up and produce first-to-market advertising campaigns for Showtime, Levi's, GE, PepsiCo and FedEx. He was also the key architect behind Spotify's Music Apps Hack Weekend in 2012 and GE's incubator program in 2011 and 2012.
